Temazcal Sweatlodge

Temazcal is an ancient sweat lodge ritual practiced by the Mayan, Aztec, and Toltec civilizations. The term Temazcal comes from the Nahuatl language, derived from the words “teme” (to bathe) and “calli” (house), meaning “house of heat.”

This ritual focuses on physical, spiritual, and mental well-being. Its purpose is therapeutic healing, helping to reduce stress, alleviate pain, and may assist in treating skin and respiratory conditions. The Temazcal is heated with stones warmed in fire, which are brought into a dome-shaped structure resembling a turtle shell.

Duration of the ceremony: 2.5 hours

The sweat lodge is located to the left of the Labyrinth. Exact location details will also be available at the Infopoint on the festival grounds.
