Ben Sims is a long-standing figure in UK techno, active since the 1990s and known for a DJ style rooted in groove-led, functional techno. He runs the labels Theory Recordings and Hardgroove, both of which have played a key role in shaping and supporting the harder, loop-driven side of techno. As a producer, he has released music on influential imprints such as Blueprint, Tresor, Drumcode, and Klockworks, and continues to be a regular presence at clubs and festivals worldwide.
