Close Encounters of the Immigrant Kind is a split stand-up comedy show about what happens when you land in a new country and realize the culture shock didn’t come with a return ticket.
Two immigrants. Two very different backgrounds. One shared feeling: “Am I supposed to understand this?”
Bass, a French comedian with dark, dry delivery and unexpected musical moments, dissects identity, belonging, and the quiet absurdities of living between cultures. His comedy is minimal, sharp, and just unsettling enough to stay with you.
Moira brings raw, self-aware storytelling shaped by anxiety, relationships, and the strange emotional archaeology of starting over in a foreign country. Her humor is personal, dark, and unapologetically honest.
Together, they explore migration, language barriers, stereotypes, love, mental health, and the small humiliations that come with trying to pass as “normal” in someone else’s home.
This is not a feel-good immigrant success story.
It’s a close encounter — awkward, funny, uncomfortable, and very human.
