It is said that you will become an expert in a field after developing the skills required for it for at least 10,000 hours. If you associate yourself with surgery, we will provide the first 12 hours! Incisio Prima presents a three-part training series that will consistently prepare you to assist a surgeon and allow you to acquire skills for your career.

The first part of the training series "SurgiSPARK" will provide universal knowledge and skills that will allow you to smoothly enter the work in the operating room and assist the surgeon. The workshop will be done in the English language, however, Lithuanian-speaking students are welcome and will get individual instructions in their native language.

In the theoretical part of the training you will learn (40 min):

🔸 How to put on surgical scrubs properly

🔸 How to perform surgical hand scrub

🔸 What are the sterile fields in the operating room

🔸 Different surgical suturing threads and needles

🔸 What are the main surgical instruments of a surgeon‘s assistant

In the hands-on part of the training you will learn (3 hrs 20 min): 

🔸 How to put a surgical cap and mask on properly

🔸 How to put a sterile surgical gown on properly

🔸 How to put sterile surgical gloves on properly

🔸 How to use wound suturing surgical instruments and their use

🔸 How to perform instrument surgical knot tie

🔸 Sutures:

•Simple interrupted suture

•Buried suture

🔸 How to manage a deep laceration

🔸 How to remove sutures properly

At the end of the training, you will consolidate your knowledge via real-time testing and have the opportunity to win a practical prize. In addition, a training certificate and a handout of the course will be waiting for you.

Training in the English language will be held on November 9th at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius Univeristy 144 auditorium.

First session time (English language): 11:00 - 15:00

Second session time (English language): 16:00 - 20:00

There are no course requirements. The number of tickets is limited. When making a transfer, make sure to provide the reference number.

⬆️ During "SurgiSPARK" real-life medical items are used. Silicone pad excellently imitates skin for suturing tasks.

Tickets are only refundable if the event date is changed or cancelled.
