The workshop will last through 120 minutes of a live-streamed presentation including a Q&A session and a hands-on experience with a modular rack run by Bendik Baksaas from Oslo to three other cities across Europe (Białystok, Vilnius, Porto).

Following the resounding success of our last IMMERSIONS workshop, where participants expressed a keen appetite for deeper insights into modular systems, we are thrilled to invite you to our third free workshop.

Led by the knowledgeable Bendik Baksaas, this workshop promises to demystify the intricacies of modular synthesizers. Bendik will take you back to the basics and guide you through the essentials, providing hands-on experience with a modular rack to explore the enchanting capabilities of these instruments.

Throughout the session, Bendik will lead you through the creation of a basic patch, unravel the allure of modular systems, and equip you with the know-how to embark on your own modular journey.

The workshop will last through 120 minutes of a live-streamed presentation run by the artist from Oslo to three other cities across Europe. A Q&A session will enable altogether 60 participants gathered for the workshop in their local venues in Oslo, Białystok, Porto and Vilnius to interact with the artist. It will also give them a chance to experience the networked music community bridged across the continent, while remaining in their local environment.

About Bendik Baksaas:
Years refining his awareness of emotion and dance, has led Bendik Baksaas to finding his unique voice in techno. With a background from heavy metal, norwegian folk music and jazz, he is currently devoted to bringing the ancient viking traditions into the night club.
As a live performer, Baksaas rests in the flux state of improvisation, and cherishes the serendipity of being present in the experience of sound. As a producer, he gravitates towards holistic tracks, where every detail is essential to the groove.
Call and response, action and reaction, a beat with silence in between, is the inherent rhythm in everything. Baksaas examines this phenomena in music with playful attention.
Bendik’s new album Flex Core will be released on Snick Snack October 11th 2024. Workshop participants are invited to an early listen here. All melodies and riffs from modular and drums from Ableton.
