As the newly elected President of EDTNA/ERCA, I am especially honoured to welcome you to this conference and continue our shared mission of advancing nephrology nursing and improving patient outcomes globally. The theme of this year’s conference, “Mind Matters in Nephrology: Caring Beyond the Kidneys,” highlights the essential role of mental health and holistic well-being in kidney care. We will explore how caring for the mind is just as important as caring for the body—both for our patients and for healthcare professionals working in the kidney care field. Together, we will reflect on strategies to support mental resilience, prevent burnout, and integrate psychological care into everyday nephrology practice, ensuring that compassion and empathy remain at the heart of what we do.
