We are thrilled to invite you to join us on the 28th of October for our second Balfolk music, dance, and social evening of this new season! Revel in the infectious beats of our monthly balfolk dance evenings and let your spirit soar as you learn intriguing dance steps amidst a gathering of fellow dance aficionados.
This time, we are offering a dance workshop tailored for beginners followed by a dance evening spanning two and a half delightful hours. Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Balfolk, where you’ll get a chance to familiarize yourself with some of the most danced Balfolk dances including Tricot, Bourree of 3, asymmetrical waltzes, Branles, and Repasiado.
Balfolk is a distinctive European folk dance, rejuvenated and brought back to life in France in the 1970s. The ascent of this innovative dance is attributed to the dexterity of musicians in revamping folk music. The rejuvenated tunes of this dance inspired individuals to embrace Balfolk for personal enjoyment rather than stage performances. The transformation from a conventional dance form into a dynamic, creative, and adaptive dance style has ensured the preservation of its communal essence and profound dance steps. Today, Balfolk is a sensation among dance enthusiasts across Europe.

* The dance evening will take place on Gediminas Ave. 47A hall. (you will find the stairs to the basement by entering the courtyard from Gediminas Ave.).
* You should bring your footwear to the dance, as the hall is new and outdoor shoes are not allowed.
* There will be music from the speaker for dances also live music.
* Please bring your own bottles of water; there is drinkable water in the hall (there are also cups)
