ENG___

On the 5-11th of February, Vilnius for the first time will host "ContemPLAY", an international festival-workshop of contemporary experimental and improvisational music. Together with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and "Improdimensija", the "Lithuanian Ensemble Network", or "LENsemble", presents the event "LENsemblePLAY".

On the 7th of February, "LENsemble" for the audience of the “ContemPLAY” will present a musical portrait of two professors of composition: Johannes Schöllhorn (Freiburg Academy of Music) and Vykintas Baltakas (Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Maastricht Conservatoire). The concert, which will take place during the international festival-workshop, is entitled "LENsemblePLAY". It is an event reflecting two approaches to the relationship between tradition and innovation, which will become a dialogue between two musical origins and cultures. Many of the works in the concert comment on the historical musical context and the works of composers such as Gabriel Fauré, Arnold Schönberg and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and shows the historical view from a contemporary perspective. Johannes Schöllhorn and Vykintas Baltakas, composers of the Musical Dialogue, will present their works live during the event.
