World-Famous Composers' Music for Selected Vilnius Locations
Ivan Fedele
Italy
WORLD PREMIERE
of the new composition dedicated to the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum
"I always wanted to turn images into music!" exclaimed Italian composer Ivan Fedele upon seeing the attention-grabbing paintings by Kazys Varnelis - a Lithuanian painter of optical art who spent most of his life in the United States and achieved fame there, yet remains undiscovered by many in our country. Fedele has dedicated his new composition, "Varnelis Variations," to this artist's work and philosophy. The world premiere of the piece for piano and electronics will take place in the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum, a labyrinth of art and secrets, with talented pianist Indrė Baikštytė and the composer's fellow in experimentation, Italian Alvise Vidolin, performing. The concert will be accompanied by special tours of this unique cultural space and a meeting with Ivan Fedele.
The event includes a world premiere concert and a special tour of the Kazys Varnelis House-Museum.
When purchasing tickets, you can choose whether to participate in the tour before or after the concert.

MUSIC FOR VILNIUS | World-Famous Composers' Music for Selected Vilnius Locations
Seven world-famous composers from diverse countries and cultures, renowned for their performances on prestigious concert stages and at international festivals from New York to Tokyo, will honor Vilnius by offering their exclusive musical gifts in celebration of the city's 700th anniversary. Each composer is creating a new music piece dedicated to a selected location in the city, which will be publicly presented during the cycle of world premieres from May to July. Accompanying the premieres are portrait concerts and other events. These compositions, as installations, will remain in their respective locations as a cultural legacy of the composers for future generations, contributing to the history of Vilnius.
