Rudens lygiadienis

Rugsėjo 22 d. stos rudens lygiadienis, pažymintis astronominio rudens pradžią. Šią dieną tradiciškai būdavo atnašaujama dievybėms už išaugintą, subrandintą derlių, tuo pabrėžiant ribų tarp skirtingų klimato sąlygų svarbą. Palydint šviesųjį metų laiką ir pasitinkant tamsųjį, šią sandūrą paminėsime Neries krantinėje prie Karaliaus Mindaugo tilto vyksiančiomis ugnies ir muzikos apeigomis.
Šiemet, minint archeologės Marijos Gimbutienės metus, rudens lygę kviečiame švęsti kartu su jos prikeltomis Senosios Europos deivėmis, kurias įprasmins specialiai šiai progai kurtos Ryto Jono Belevičiaus skulptūros.
Renginio metu nusikelsime į proindoeuropietiškus laikus, kai dievų panteone vyriškieji dievai dar nevaldo, nekuria, nekontroliuoja, o yra tik gyvulių, miškų globėjai, augalijos jėgų simboliai. Pasaulį tuomet valdė ne žmonos, dukterys ar mylimosios, bet globėjos, motinos, valdovės – teikiančios gyvybę, skiriančios gyvenimo trukmę ir mirties laiką, lemiančios gerovę, laimę ir nelaimę, sveikatą ir ligą.
Renginio akcentais taip pat taps Neries krantinėje nusidrieksiantys ugnies raštai, vaizdo projekcijos bei muzikinės Ado Gecevičiaus ir Viltės Ambrazaitytės liaudies dainų interpretacijos.
Renginį organizuoja Vilniaus etninės kultūros centras ir Vilniaus miesto savivaldybė.

On September 22, the Autumn Equinox will mark the beginning of the astronomical autumn.
On this day, the deities have traditionally been thanked for the matured harvest, thus emphasizing the importance of the boundaries between different climatic conditions. Saying goodbye to the warm season and meeting the dark period of the year, we will commemorate this junction with the rituals of fire and light, accompanied by musical compositions that will take place on the banks of the Neris river near the King Mindaugas Bridge.
This year, to commemorate the year of archaeologist Marija Gimbutienė, we will celebrate Autumn Equinox together with the goddesses of Old Europe, who will be revived for this occasion in the form of sculptures created by Rytas Jonas Belevičius.
During the event, we will move back to Proto-Indo-European times, when the male gods do not yet rule, create, control, but are only guardians of animals, forests, and symbols of the forces of vegetation. The world was then ruled not by wives, daughters, or loved ones, but by guardians, mothers, and queens who provided life, determined life expectancy and time of death, health and sickness, happiness and misfortune.
The highlights of the event will be not only burning sculptures, but also fire patterns created on the Neris embankment, video projections, and musical interpretations of folk songs by Adas Gecevičius and Viltė Ambrazaitytė.
Astronomical autumn will be greeted on September 22 at 8 p. m. on the Neris embankment near the King Mindaugas Bridge.
The event is organized by Vilnius Ethnic Culture Center and Vilnius City Municipality.
