ME’19: sound performance „Degti”

Yiorgis Sakellariou is a Greek composer currently based in Vilnius, Lithuania. He is best known to Lithuanian audience in the field of sound art. During “Muzika erdveje 2019” Yiorgis will present a site-specific live concert at the factory of "Vilniaus degtinė". 

In his piece Yiorgis analyzes the closeness of contemporary music community which opens much wider topics such as: the relationship between factory sounds and workers, the transformation of monotonic everyday sound environment into a musical piece, the architectural acoustics of the factory. This performance is based on the sounds recorded in this specific factory and played-back in its acoustic environment.
