Excursion description: In the 17th century, as the Pažaislis Monastery Complex was being built, the most famous Italian architects, artists and sculptors would be working here, in the middle of Lithuanian forests. Although the monastery has been devastated multiple times during various wars, artwork by Italian artists Joano Meri, and Giuseppe Rossi, Giovanni Battista Frediani, the brothers Pietro and Carlo Puttini, the Florentine painter Michelangelo Palloni, all withstood the test of time.
The sound of music beneath the arches of the church reveals its beauty as many concerts and music festivals take place here. The most famous filmmakers find this place for their works as well.
Although the monastery was built by the affluent, influential and religious Pacas family, but this masterpiece of architecture and art is open to all of us.
Price: 15 Eur/ person (Free admission for children under 7 ) / (Price includes professional guide service in English)
Additional costs: entrance tickets to the monastery. 6 Eur per person adults, 3 Eur per person school and university students, seniors. (Free admission for children under 7 and the disabled.).
